CORRUPT INEC OFFICIALS TRYING TO FORCE A RUNOFF IN IMO BY UNDER REPORTING NUMBERS FOR EMEKA IHEDIOHA
Two days after theImo State Gubernatorial elections, final results are yet to be released amnd declaration of a winner is yet to be carried out.
With almost all the Local government Areas reporting, PDP’s Emeka Ihedioha is said to be winning majority of the vote by a huge 50,000 plus margin. Uche Nwosu, Rochas Okorocha’s son inlaw and AA candidate is in second place. APC’s Hope Uzodinma is in 3rd place and APGA’s Araraume is in 4th place.
Elections OPTICS’ Dr Okwe commented, “The people have spoken, let the announcement be made. What’s the delay about? We need to stop all these electoral shenanigans in Nigeria. You have the results in your hands, announce it right away.. Why consult electoral officers to double check numbers that they had submitted hours and maybe a day or two ago? We are a long shot away from achieving a decent level of electoral sanity”.
It is reported that while Emeka Ihedioha, the PDP candidate and former deputy speaker of Nigeria’s house of representatives has the majority vote, there is a very serious effort on the part of AA/Rochas/Nwosu and APC/Uzodinma to try to force a runoff by either over inflating Uche Nwosu’s victory margin in areas where he won and/or suppressing Ihedioha’s numbers in areas where he lost. The end result is for them to have Ihedioha coming short of the requisite 25% of the Votes needed in at least 2/3 (18) of the total 27 LGAs in Imo to secure a clear win and avoid a runoff. Reports suggest that Uche Nwosu/ Rochas and APC want the runoff badly so they can get ready and improve on their rigging techniques before the next election.
The Imo state collation had now been interrupted at least three or four times by either violence of official break. They said the last break was taken to they can get their numbers right. It was so embarrassing as some of the so called “highly educated” professiors couldn’t even read out or properly count numbers. Some people have suggested that they were under duress from threats emanating from several interest groups.

They said INEC office in Abuja is being consulted before the collation would continue. Interesting . Ikechukwu Nzeh of We4We TV associate, Elections OPTICS (Monitoring Team) joked, “We wonder if the Votes cast in Imo two days ago traveled to Abuja and now would need to be recalled to be collated”.
This election was widely believed to be the costliest election in Imo history with uche Nwosu and Hope Uzodinma spending the most, especially on amassing thugs, election officials and law enforcement personell bribing and other rigging methods.
At the end, It is widely believed that Emeka Ihedioha would ve declared the new Governor of Imo State.
