Why Buhari govt has not proscribed Shittes, violent herdsmen – Biafra group

Biafra Nations Youth League, BNYL, has decried Buhari government’s refusal to brand Islamic Movement of Nigeria, IMN, and herdsmen as terrorist group following Shi’ites violent protest leading to the killing of Deputy Commissioner of Police and a corps member in Abuja.

It said government and security agencies’ stance not to act like they did to the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, was because Nigeria does not practice equality.

Addressing newsmen in Calabar, capital city of Cross River State, Chief Press Secretary of BNYL, Comrade Kufre Obot: “Where is the former Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai, can he now different between peaceful protest and violent protest?

“Where are the Southeast Governors, have they gone to sleep over this issue”.

He said that the Fulani herdsmen who also ought to have been treated as terrorists “were allowed to move freely with guns in the society due to powers backing them at the centre”.

The group stated that it was not against Islamic revolution in the country, adding that every group had right to self determination, but it was against the use of Jihad, which the Miyetti Allah had adopted in pushing for the cause.
