Former France striker, Thierry Henry, has compared Barcelona teenager Lamine Yamal with Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Henry was providing analysis for Barca’s Champions League quarter-final second leg clash at Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.
According to him, Yamal was as “fearless” as Ronaldo, with the 18-year-old backing up his pre-match talk by opening the scoring at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Although Ferran Torres levelled the tie on aggregate, Ademola Lookman’s goal saw Barcelona eliminated.
Henry said: “This is what a young Cristiano Ronaldo used to do: he could talk boldly in interviews and back it up on the pitch.
“Yamal said he would carry Barcelona single-handedly, and barely two minutes into the game, he had already scored. But what impresses me even more is his fearlessness.”
