Barely 24 hours after David Adeleke, aka Davido, and his wife, Chioma, welcomed their baby boy, many fake Instagram accounts have been opened in the child’s name.
The singer, via his verified Instagram page, @davidoofficial, on Sunday shared the news of the arrival of David Adeleke Jr.
Davido wrote, “Omoba ti de! (The prince has arrived!) David Adedeji Ifeanyi Adeleke Jr! The prince is here! 20-10-2019! Love you my strong wife, @thechefchi. I love you.”
The post has since gathered over 1.3 million likes and 137,000 comments from fans and fellow artistes, who trooped to the singer’s page to congratulate him and his wife.
However, less than 24 hours after the baby’s arrival, many pseudo Instagram accounts have been opened in his name.
Checks by our correspondent on Instagram – using the names, David Adeleke Jr, David Ifeanyi Adeleke Jr, and David Adedeji Adeleke Jr, among others – showed different accounts popping up in the child’s name.
All the fake accounts bore the picture of Davido holding the baby in his arms as their profile pictures.
Neither the singer nor his wife has, however, addressed the development, according to checks.
Davido had in September engaged Chioma. In the same month, the duo had a family introduction, which is one of the first steps before the wedding of two lovers in many Nigerian tribes.
