Senator Dr Ifeanyi Ubah, representing Anambra South senatorial district in the Nigerian senate, has expressed his strong belief in the importance of reaching out and involving Nigerians in the diaspora as a crucial component of meaningful development in Anambra state.

The distinguished senator made this remark in a town hall meeting and reception held in his honor at the banquet hall of the prestigious Robert Treat Hotel in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday July 31, 2021. Dr Ubah, a gubernatorial aspirant under the banner of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), also used the opportunity to present his manifesto which detailed not only his accomplishments as a private citizen and as a member of the highest legislative arm of government in Nigeria, but also outlined his vision for Anambra state.

While lamenting the poor state of development in the state due to ineffective leadership, he emphasized the enormous potential of the state to be the powerhouse of a regional economy, a potential that can only be harnessed by strong, visionary and result-oriented leadership. “I want to help usher in a commercially-inclined governance and a diaspora-friendly government in Anambra State”, hé remarked. The distinguished senator stressed that the enormous wealth in both financial and Human Resources of Anambra indigenes in the diaspora is one that cannot be overlooked as it is a crucial element that can guarantee rapid growth and development of the state.

The town hall meeting was attended by a cross section of Anambra state indigenes in New Jersey, New York and environs, as well as stakeholders, leaders of industry, members of various community organizations and other dignitaries.
