RCCG donates health materials to Lagos

The Redeemed Christian Church of God, through its Christian Social Responsibility team, has donated 8,000 hand sanitizers, 8,000 surgical face masks and 200,000 hand gloves to support the efforts of the Lagos State Government in equipping the medical personnel with necessary protective gears needed to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.

While presenting the materials at the Mainland Hospital, Yaba, Lagos on Tuesday, the Assistant General Overseer, Admin/Personnel, RCCG, Pastor Johnson Odesola, described the COVID-19 pandemic as a global challenge that required collective efforts and cooperation to combat.

According to a statement on Tuesday, Odesola, who represented the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, commended the sacrifices of the medical personnel and the state government so far, saying that the church would continue to pray for them.

He said the medical supplies were presented to Lagos State Government to support on-site operations and protect health workers as they work to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the state.

He said, “We commend the sacrifices that all medical personnel are making at this time, the church will continue to pray for them as they give their sacrifice of love even as the RCCG, as a church agrees that combating COVID-19 is by no means work for all.

“This donation is in addition to other supports and interventions given by the church to the health sector ahead of the coronavirus pandemic, we had delivered on our commitment to strengthen and support the Nigerian health care system through the donation of 11 ICU beds fully fitted with ventilators in Lagos, Ogun and Plateau states and they are now found to be useful as the government works round the clock to contain COVID-19 pandemic.”
