NFF consoles Rohr over mother’s death

The Nigeria Football Federation has commiserated with Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr, who lost his mother on Thursday, Sports Extra reports.

Elizabeth Rohr died aged 97.

Elizabeth, who was born in 1922, was married to Philip Rohr, a former German football player and coach.

Asides from the Eagles coach, who was the fourth child, his parents also had six other children.

The federation through its Twitter handle sent their condolences to the German, who took over the Super Eagles job in 2016 after the resignation of Sunday Oliseh.

“We commiserate with @NGSuperEagles head coach, Gernot Rohr, who just lost his mother Madam Elisabeth Rohr. She was 97. May her soul rest in peace,” the NFF tweeted.

The German was in the dugout during Nigeria’s international friendly against Ukraine at the Dnipro Arena on Tuesday.
