Lagos, Oyo, Ekiti discharge 11 patients

Eleven COVID-19 patients have been discharged in Lagos, Oyo and Ekiti states after they recovered from the virus.

The Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, confirmed the recovery and discharge of seven more COVID-19 patients from the Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba, bringing to 46 the number of discharged patients in Lagos.

Sanwo-Olu via his Twitter handle, @jidesanwoolu, on Friday, said the discharged patients were three females and four males, who had tested negative twice for COVID-19.

He wrote, “This brings to 46, the number of patients successfully managed and discharged from our Yaba facility.”

The Oyo State Government has also discharged three COVID-19 patients after being confirmed negative for the viral infection.

The state governor, Seyi Makinde, on his Twitter handle on Friday, said the patients were discharged after their second test results came negative from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control. The governor said, “This brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to five. So, there are currently six active cases in the state.”

Makinde also maintained that the partial lockdown imposed on the state still subsists.

Also, the Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, said the second COVID-19 patient in the state, who underwent treatment at the state Isolation Centre at Adejuyigbe General Hospital, Ado Ekiti, had been discharged after recovering from the disease.
