A Kano state hospital over the weekend performed its first ever brain surgery – The surgery was performed on one 26-year-old Ali Iliyasu who suffered brain disorder after a fatal accident – The successful brain-open surgery was effected after 11 months of fruitless appointment with different facilities The new Muhammadu Buhari Specialist Hospital, Giginyu, Kano,have successfully carried out its first brain surgery over the weekend. The 48-hour surgery performed on one 26-year old Ali Iliyasu following a brain disorder after a fatal accident was carried out by five Kano-based medical doctors over the weekend. Speaking on the procedure, a neuro-surgeon consultant, Dr. Shu’aibu Sule Dambatta, said the successful brain-open surgery was effected after 11 months of fruitless appointment with different facilities.
