Imo AA begins campaign for Buhari’s re-election

The Imo State chapter of the Action Alliance on Monday started the Local Government Areas tour for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari.

At the commencement of the campaign in Okwe in Onuimo LGA, the party said Buhari’s re-election had been “signed, sealed and delivered.”

The AA governorship candidate in the state, Uche Nwosu, the senatorial candidate for Imo North, Ndubuisi Emenike, and the party’s candidate for the House of Representatives for Okigwe North, Simeon Iwunze, said Buhari would have a landslide victory in the state.

The candidates said apart from Buhari, the electorate would vote for the AA candidates throughout the state.

Nwosu said, “President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory is assured on February 16. Vote for President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC, after that vote for all the AA candidates. Do the same on March 2.”

“I have come to work and do things like a young man. As a governor, I will encourage agriculture and support Onuimo people in rice production.

“Apart from completing the school projects, I will digitalise the Imo school system. I have a comparative advantage because I am a youth. I understand what youth and women empowerment is all about. As a Chief of Staff and Commissioner for Lands, I empowered thousands of youths.

“The Action Alliance government in Imo State will offer free and qualitative education. We will give free medical care to ages zero to seven children and our fathers and mothers who are 75 years and above.”

The governorship candidate, who raised the alarm of possible rigging by those he described as unpopular candidates, urged women and the state’s youths to protect their votes.

Nwosu said, “Don’t allow them to rig the elections. Ensure your votes count by being vigilant at your polling units. These elections are important to the growth of our democracy. Vote Action Alliance and protect your votes.”

Emenike said the AA had come to upturn the political equation of the state.

He urged the state’s youths to take their destiny in their hands by ensuring that credible people were voted into power.

The state Commissioner for Market Development, Sunny Chiadi, said apart from Buhari, the AA would win the governorship election in the state.
