EFCC: Ibrahim Magu corrupt, fake anti-corruption boss – Shehu Sani

Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has described the suspended Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, as a dubious and fake anti-corruption boss.

Sani alleged that Magu worked to sustain dubious and corrupt politicians while in office.

He stressed that EFCC under Magu was a private army used for persecution and witch-hunting.

In a statement he signed, the former lawmaker said Magu’s suspension has vindicated the 8th Senate led by former Senate President, Bukola Saraki that refused to confirm him as EFCC’s Chairman.

Sani also commended President Muhammadu Buhari and the Attorney General of the Federation, AGF, and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami for initiating the probe against Magu.

He said: “EFCC embattled chairman’s arrest and probe is a commendable step by the PMB administration and the AGF Malami.

“It’s a vindication of the position of the 8th Senate. Magu was a dubious and fake anti corruption tsar who was sustained by corrupt politicians within the ruling elite; He worked for them and for himself.

“EFCC under Magu was nothing but a private army for persecution and witch-hunting. EFCC under Magu is a citadel ,a cesspool, a cathedral and castle of corruption.

“Magu’s EFCC is a political consultancy outfit in the service of the corrupt. Magu was a man looking for corruption in Ghana while sitting on Ghana-must-go.

“Magu worked for some politicians in office and himself and deceived journalists and CSOs to believe him. Magu’s EFCC is a scoop of human faecces coated with a facade of vanilla Ice cream.”
