Coronavirus: Africa records 221 deaths as COVID-19 figures hits 6,213

The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) says there are now 6,213 confirmed cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in 49 countries across Africa.

The health agency disclosed this in a tweet on its official Twitter account on Thursday morning.

According to the tweet, COVID-19 had killed 221 people in Africa, while a total of 469 patients recovered from the disease across the continent.

”COVID19 – Surveillance update in Africa: 2 APRIL 2020 – 9:00 am EAT,” Africa CDC tweeted.

”African Union Member States (49) reporting 6,213 COVID-19 cases, 221 deaths, and 469 recoveries by region.”
