Bye-elections: PDP presents quality candidates, says Diri

Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, said the Peoples Democratic Party has picked quality candidates as standard-bearers for the Bayelsa Central and West Senatorial Bye-elections fixed for October 31, 2020.

The governor spoke on Saturday following the emergence of his predecessor, Seriake Dickson, and the immediate past state chairman of the PDP, Moses Cleopas, as candidates for Bayelsa West and Central districts, respectively.

He was quoted in a statement by his acting Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Alabrah, as saying, “We are presenting our best in the election. The former governor is highly experienced in the legislature and running of the executive arm. He is a lawyer too.

“Our former chairman is a good party man with oratory power and great leadership skill. They will be good representatives in the Senate and a strong voice for Bayelsa and the Ijaw nation. I call on our people to support these great men in the election.”
