ATIKU TO BE DECLARED WINNER AFTER INEC MEETING

This is a breaking news. Please, check back for more updates.

Despite very stern objection from President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC operatives, INEC is “READY” to declare Abubakar Atiku, the PDP presidential candidate, the winner of Nigeria’s  2019 presidential elections, according to authorities reports from very close sources.

Reports suggest that INEC boss, Mahmood Yakubu is currently holding talks/comsultations and meetings with fellow commissioners and other non political bodies and would announce the results thereafter. The major issue at hand is that the INEC boss is ready to order new elections for Bonny and other parts of Rivers state where pockets of elections violence prevented the INEC officials there from conducting elections. He wants to order fresh elections in those areas but only for the National Assembly, not the presidential races. Sources report that the APC wants INEC in its elections re-order to include Anambra, Lagos and several other states. INEC national commissioner, Mr Festus Okoye rejects APC calls to include Anambra in the fresh elections re-order list. PDP and the Atiku camp decries this and want INEC to announce the results as is which would project and declare Atiku Abubakar the winner. The PDP further demands that any meeting or consultations that involves INEC and  President, Muhammadu Buhari must also include Atiku and other interested parties, for the sake of transparency and to avoid the appearance of a conflict of interest.

The APC, reports suggest, prefers that the elections be declared inconclusive with INEC ordering fresh elections in more than a dozen states where they claim violence denied ordinary Nigerians the opportunity to either cast their votes or to have their cast votes properly count. The PDP rejects that position and instead wants the INEC to announce the results “as is”. It’s also being reported that some within the current APC government are preparing for the declaration of a national emergency and the establishment of a ‘Transitional Government”.

Reports reveal that teams of APC legal practitioners have been dispatched to Abuja and Lagos to immediately lunch challenges to the results when announced. Attempts to reach Prof Maxwell Gidardo, PDP and Atiku Team legal director for comments proved abortive.
