Body of second Benue State University student recovered from Nasarawa river

The body of 100 Level Benue State University student, Emmanuella Mson has been recovered from a river in Nasarawa.

The body was placed at the bank of river Benue from where it was later conveyed to the Benue State State University Teaching Hospital.

Mson, only child of her parents and a student of College and Health Science and Kole Christopher, also a100 Level Computer Science student, drowned while swimming inside River Benue on Friday evening at 6pm.

It was gathered that the deceased students alongside three others had gone to play football by the riverside behind the school when the incident happened. When done with football, the five students decided to to swim. The current was said to have increased pulling the students deeper into the water. Three of them managed to swim back to shore while the two others drowned.

The three students ran back to the campus and raised alarm. The University management through the security unit as well as Marine Police immediately launched a search and rescue operation.

Remains of the male student, Christopher was found floating on the river.
