The organisers of the Ballon d’Or, France Football, have confirmed that Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, is leading an official fan vote to decide the greatest winner of all time.
Voting began in early October and it allows football fans to vote for the greatest winner in the history of the award.
The competition features 10 football legends who have won the Ballon d’Or at least twice.
Some of the other names on the list include Lionel Messi, Michel Platini, Kevin Keegan, Ronaldo Nazario, Marco van Basten and Johan Cruyff.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is leading,” a post on the Ballon d’Or social media feed read.
“You can still vote for your B.O.A.T. and try to win 2 tickets to the 2027 ceremony!
“Choose your BALLON D’OR OF ALL TIME among the players who have won the award multiple times.”
