Man stabbed to death for pasting APC campaign posters in Rivers

A young man identified as Chimezie Dike, was stabbed to death for pasting the campaign posters of an APC House of Representatives candidate in Rivers state, Collyns Owondah, on the wall of a building at number 40b Azikiwe street Mile 2 in Diobu, Port Harcourt in Rivers state on Saturday January 5th.

 

According to reports, Chimezie who is not a member of the ruling party, APC, was paid some money to paste the posters. However on getting to Azubike street, he was challenged by one Henry Ekeozor, son of an APC women leader, Ifeoma Ekeozor. Ekeozor and Owondah are both of APC in the state but belong to different factions.

Henry and his mother had asked Chike not to paste the poster on their residence but he refused and an argument ensued. Things degenrated into a fight and Henry stabbed Chike in the chest.

 

He was immediately rushed to the hospital where doctors confirmed him dead.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, Nnamdi Omoni, said investigations into the incident is still ongoing.
