2026 Ballon d’Or: There’s no one better – Mbappe picks player to win award

Real Madrid forward, Kylian Mbappe, has insisted that he deserves to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or, as there was no player better than him in the year under review.

Mbappe has made the 30-man nominees’ shortlist alongside names like Rodri, Lionel Messi, Lamine Yamal, Harry Kane and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

But the France captain believes he would be the worthy winner on October 26.

“I have a feeling that I can win it this year. It is one of my goals, and there is not much time left,” Mbappé told L’Équipe.

“I have always believed that the Ballon d’Or should be given to a truly exceptional player.

“Of course there is a collective aspect because football is a team sport, but in the end it is an individual award.

“For years, I have considered myself the best player in the world. I have not seen any player better than me.”
