Bauchi’s Gov Mohammed emerges PDP Governors’ Forum Chairman

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State, on Saturday, emerged as the new chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum to replace his Oyo State counterpart, Governor Seyi Makinde.

Mohammed’s emergence was disclosed by Adamawa State governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, shortly after the governors’ closed-door meeting held at the Government House in Bauchi on the sideline of the one-day retreat organised by the main opposition party for its members elected on its platform in the recently-held general election.

Fintiri also said Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, was elected vice chairman of the forum.

According to him, Mohammed’s emergence as the chairman of the forum was based on his competence and capability to steer it to greater heights.

Meanwhile, while responding to his emergence as the forum chairman, Mohammed promised to work hand in hand with his colleagues to develop the party.

He said his emergence was a mark of honour to him and to the entire people of Bauchi State.

Mohammed, however, appealed to his colleagues to support him in the tasks ahead.
