Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano has cleared the air on reports Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen with a move to Barcelona ahead of next year’s transfer windows.
Osimhen joined Galatasaray on a permanent transfer during the summer window after his loan spell at the Turkish Super Lig champions.
The Nigerian international has been impressive for Galatasaray so far this season, scoring six goals in nine appearances across all competitions.
Osimhen’s exceptional performances have triggered renewed interest from top European clubs, including Barcelona.
However, on his YouTube channel, Romano stated that although Barcelona are exploring alternatives to replace veteran striker Robert Lewandowski, whose contract extends until 2026, there have been no ongoing negotiations with Osimhen at this moment.
“For sure Barcelona are looking for strikers for 2026 that is important to say because Lewandowski is out of contract and has concrete chances of leaving the club on a free,” Romano said.
“So Barcelona are looking for strikers. But at the moment, Osimhen is not negotiating or talking with any club.”
“Barcelona are not negotiating for Osimhen today and Osimhen is focused on Galatasaray. That is very important to say. Barcelona are just trying to understand the strikers.”
