The Transmission Company of Nigeria has announced that it has restored electricity supply to parts of Kaduna and Niger states in Northern Nigeria.
This follows the successful repair of the Shiroro-Mando 330-kilovolt line on Tuesday, December.
The spokesperson of TCN, Ndidi Mbah, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
Recall that on Friday, November 28th, 2025, part of the region was thrown into darkness after the Shiroro-Mando line was tripped.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has successfully restored bulk power transmission on the Shiroro–Mando 330kV Line II at 11:56am today, Tuesday, December 2, 2025.
“The restoration process was delayed due to security challenges along the line route, which temporarily restricted safe access to the fault site,” TCN stated.
Meanwhile, parts of Abuja have remained in darkness for over three days due to TCN’s maintenance exercise at Katampe Transmission Substation.
Abuja Electricity Distribution Company had earlier confirmed the disruption of bulk electricity supply for Monday and Tuesday; however, parts of the nation’s capital have remained in outage as of filing the report.
