The commencement of voting in the ongoing chairmanship and councillorship elections in Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area of Lagos State has been delayed due to the late arrival of electoral officials.
Despite turning out in impressive numbers as early as 8:00 a.m., eager voters at various polling units were left waiting as officials of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission , LASIEC, were yet to arrive to begin the accreditation and voting process.
At the polling unit where the All Progressives Congress, APC, chairmanship candidate, Usman Hamzat, is expected to cast his vote, residents remained on standby, with many expressing concern over the slow start and its potential impact on the day’s proceedings.
