Former Arsenal star, Martin Keown has named captain Martin Odegaard as the man-of-the-match during the Gunners’ Premier League 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday.
According to Keown, the Norway midfielder proved a lot of people wrong during the encounter.
Two goals from Matty Cash and Emiliano Buendia ensured Unai Emery’s men defeated the Premier League leaders.
Leandro Trossard, however, did score a goal for Arsenal against the hosts at Villa Park.
“I’m going for Martin Odegaard,” Keown told TNT Sports when asked to name his Player of the Match.
“He was out for ages but came in and controlled things in midfield today. He also had two or three really good efforts where he could’ve scored.
“A lot of people were saying he should not get back in the Arsenal team with Eze’s form, but he’s proved them wrong.”
