
A group of bandits at Sabon Sara village attempting to gain access to the Kaduna-Abuja Highway, met stiff resistance from security operatives in the area.
The security team comprising police and military personnel rescued a Chinese and two others abducted by the bandits.
Kaduna police spokesman Mohammad Jalige said the Operation Puff Adder and Operation Thunder Strike team observed the suspicious movement of armed bandits at Sabon Sara village and took the battle to them.
Jalige said a “severe exchange of fire ensued between the security personnel and the bandits, forcing the outlaws to scamper for safety.
He said the kidnapped Chinese national and two other persons were rescued, while the bandits abandoned eight of their operational motorcycles.
The statement added;
“The injured victims have been conveyed to a hospital for medical attention, while recovered exhibits are being analysed, while efforts are on to arrest the bandits.
“The Commissioner of Police Kaduna Command Yekini Ayoku applauded the renewed commitment and synergy between the police and sister agencies.”
