South East Governors should work with IPOB to better present B.S.S as a Homeland defence initiative to the Federal Government.
For those trying to draw a direct comparison between the IPOB, its B.S.S (Biafran Security Services) and the Afenifere and its Amotekun military initiative, “please, do not”, as both groups are different in their set-ups and modus operandi. Without going too deep on this particular write up, let me just say that one group, the Afenifere, wants the best for the Yoruba people under the “ONE NIGERIA” setting while the other group, IPOB, wants the best for peoples of the former Eastern Nigeria but under a new Fully independent enclave called BIAFRA…
The Yoruba’s Amotekun is more of a political setting being used to aid the eventual creation of an Oduduwa republic..
Amotekun has a political undertone and that’s most likely why it took Tinubu a bit of time to publicly comment on it as he and his Allies were believed to be taking their time to better figure out how and where it fits them in long run. It is being rumored that it might even be used to create a stronger political party that has a wider Yoruba appeal than the current APC and that they would use it to align with some S.E, S.S or Middle belt groups to form a stronger coalition that’s strong enough to win future presidencies with the Yoruba at the top of the ticket as opposed to the current APC setting that has the Tinubu Osinbanjo-coalition as second tier group and often fighting for their rights in a more dominant Fulani hegemonic arrangement.
The Amotekun is a double Prong attack entity that has both an effective Political and Military Wing.. The Yoruba elites are mostly aligned with the political wing, irrespective of their current Political leanings and they’re simply using the military wing, comprising mostly of elements from OPC and other military affiliates of the Afenifere’s, to help render Miyetti Allah’s encroachment innocuous as they work towards an eventual Oduduwa republic…
The Amotekun was largely built out of emulation of the IPOB and its B.S.S but without all of their core tenets and modes of operation.I believe they intentionally structured it that way mostly in an attempt to have a broader appeal and federal government’s acceptance. Now, some suggest that since the Yoruba politicians and elites “COPIED” IPOB & Biafrans to set up Amotekun and it seems to be doing well, that the Igbo Politicians and elite can now “Copy” from the “COPIERS” (Afenifere, Yoruba elite and politicians) of IPOB this time around and try to perfect a political body that has a Military wing with not so well publicly defined military intents. Much like Amotekun, the new group would have a broader appeal and Federal Government’s acceptance and could simply be used to ply their way into an eventual Biafra if Nigeria continues to disintegrate the way it is largely believed to be disintegrating today. The Yorubas are simply quite visionary with the Amotekun set up.
Most Igbos worry that its elite and political class would do their best to run down any such initiative just like they’re believed to have done to IPOB and it’s B.S.S. Some suggest that they should simply have an honest sit down with IPOB and let its B.S.S outfit be modified to fit into the Amotekun play book. Some believe that without a military group, just like the S.W’s Amotekun, with Federal Government acceptance operating in the S.E and S.S, it would be very difficult to Wade off future Miyetti Allah and its herdsmen attacks and even more difficult to perfect a more semi autonomous South East and South South enclave. Some believe that some of the Igbo elite and political class would simply keep getting handouts from the Fulanis and keep sabotaging any serious efforts being made to secure and build up their Homeland…
