Tension erupted on Saturday in Obunagha community in Bayelsa State after youths clashed with officers suspected to be from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA.
Residents stated that the confrontation followed allegations by some youths that the officials had been carrying out a series of illegal raids in the area.
A video obtained by our reporter showed a group of aggrieved youths attempting to attack the suspected NDLEA officials.
During the chaos, the officials’ vehicle was tipped over, forcing them to hurriedly exit the scene.
Some of the youths were heard shouting and hurling insults at the officers.
In the footage, one youth was heard confronting an official, alleging that he had been shot despite not being a criminal.
