ZLP members defect to APC in Ondo

Thousands of members of the Zenith Labour Party in Ondo State have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress.

The defectors pledged to support the candidate of the APC and governor of the state, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, in the October 10 governorship election.

A member of the House of Representatives representing Akoko North East/ North West Federal Constituency of the state, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo who led the defectors to the governor, said the performance of Akeredolu across all sectors had made his re-election a state wide project .

He said, “Governor Akeredolu good deeds are everywhere in terms of education, infrastructure, entrepreneurship, industrialisation, human capital development, service delivery, welfare of workers”

A leader of the defectors, Mr. Femi Ikoyi, assured the governor of the desire of the group to add significant value to his re-election as Governor of Ondo State.

However, the Publicity Secretary of the ZLP, Mr Felix Olatunde said those people that left the party for the APC had left the ZLP a long time ago.
