Nigerian Born US investigator, Officer Felix Asuquo weighs in on the deterioration of security in Nigeria and the importance of adequate security for economic progress.
Officer Asuquo has been at the forefront of providing safe neighborhoods for the residents and bringing justice to victimized individuals; hence he knows the consequences of a failed security system.
Investigator Asuquo has responded to the increased victimization of innocent Nigerians in the homeland. Especially, in the most recent cases which involved the abduction of Cross River State Security adviser to the Governor by gunmen, and the attack of a police prison in Afuze, Owan East Local Government Area of Edo state also by gunmen which reportedly claimed several lives.
According to Investigator Asuquo, “the Nigerian Security System is at its lowest level, especially when gunmen can successfully attack institutions and/or individuals that the Nigerian citizens depend on for security.”
Investigator Asuquo is calling on the Government of Nigeria on every level, and Stakeholders to immediately revamp the failed institution called the Nigerian Police Force. He encourages the government to provide access to more in-service training, adequate staffing, increase salaries, also providing security cameras, and basic technology systems necessary for any security institution to keep citizen safe and out of harm’s way.
Inv. Asuquo quotes that an “unsecured country will not sustain any type of growth or investment what so ever.”
Felix Asuquo is a Sheriff Investigator in the County of Essex, New Jersey USA. He is an indigenous born Nigerian that has rose to serve in the capacity of a Law Enforcement Officer in the largest County of New Jersey and one of the busiest in the Country.
