Chelsea, Abraham begin talks over £100k weekly deal

Chelsea have ‘begun discussions’ with striker Tammy Abraham over a new five-year deal after the youngster’s impressive performances in the opening stages of the new season, according to The Guardian. The 21-year-old is currently top of the goal scoring charts with seven Premier League strikes so far this season. The striker bagged a hat trick away to Wolves in Chelsea’s 5-2 rout of Nuno Espirito Santo’s side last weekend.

And it is believed that Chelsea’s top brass are keen to tie Abraham down to a long-term deal following his impressive start to the new campaign.

The west London club are willing to double the striker’s £50,000-per-week wages in order to keep him at Stamford Bridge.  Chelsea are also looking to hand young centre-back Fikayo Tomori a new long term deal too, as the defender has slotted seamlessly into Lampard’s back line.

The 21-year-old opened his goalscoring account for the Blues at Molineux with a stunning long-range strike that took experienced goalkeeper Rui Patricio by surprise.

Since being struck by a transfer ban, Chelsea have adopted a new approach in providing young academy talent with chances to impress in the first team. Abraham, Tomori and Mount have benefited hugely from the faith given to them by Lampard.
