Obiano redeems pledge, pays police informants N6m

Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, on Tuesday evening paid a cash reward of N6million to police operatives and informants who aided the arrest of wanted suspects involved in the murder of Chief Frank Anthony Igboka in Nimo and Mr. Ndubuisi Nwokolo in Onitsha.

A statement by the Anambra State Police Command stated that Obiano redeemed his pledge of N5million as reward to Police operatives and informants who aided the arrest of the suspected killers of Igboka.

The command stated further that the Governor equally paid cash sum of N1million to informants who provided information for the arrest of one Ikechukwu Udensi alias IKANDA, a notorious murder suspect, who was declared wanted last year.

Haruna said, “The Commissioner of Police, CP Mustapha Dandaura, while presenting the cash reward to the beneficiaries, thanked His Excellency Governor Willie Obiano for fulfilling his promise and restates the Command’s readiness to sustain its onslaught against crime and criminality in the state.”

The command, however, did not disclose the identity of the beneficiaries of the funds.
