Iwobi ready to fight for place in Arsenal

Alex Iwobi has revealed that he would like Arsenal to sign “World-class” Wilfried Zaha.

The Gunners have been linked with a move for the Crystal Palace talisman for much of the summer transfer window, but no move has yet come to fruition.

Zaha is reportedly keen on a move to the Emirates, while Gunners head coach Unai Emery is a keen admirer of the Ivory Coast frotman.

However, both clubs are well apart in their valuations of the 26-year-old, with Arsenal offering around £40million, while the Eagles hierarchy value him at more like £80million.

Iwobi was quoted as saying that signing Zaha would “add more stress” to his position at the Emirates.

The winger said, “I am not one to chicken out. I have had it all over the years, being told I’m not good enough.

“So whenever the chance comes I always try and prove I should be starting. But it’s going to be difficult if Zaha comes. He will add more stress.”
