Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has reacted to a viral slogan that he would serve one term in office.
Yusuf said he would spend one term with the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, and his second term would be in the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The governor was addressing a group in a video while responding to the Hausa ‘Falle Daya’ (One term) slogan against him.
He said: “Actually, it is only one term in the NNPP party. We will do the second term in the APC.
“As for the ADC party that they have returned to, it will not even do one term, not ever.”
Yusuf recently joined the APC from the NNPP amid political crisis with his estranged political godfather, Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Announcing his defection, the governor said his decision was taken “in the best interest of the people of Kano state”.
Prior to his defection, Yusuf had resigned from NNPP due to what he termed “deepening internal crises” and “prolonged leadership disputes.”
