I lost everything – Carter Efe, Baby Mama trade allegations amid abuse claims

Popular Nigerian skit maker and livestreamer, Carter Efe, has come under intense public scrutiny following conflicting accounts surrounding the end of his relationship with his baby mama, Emmanuella, amid allegations of domestic abuse, emotional manipulation, and opportunism.

The controversy began after Efe took to Instagram and X to announce that he had separated from Emmanuella for over a year.

He described the period as one marked by emotional turmoil, financial hardship, and creative stagnation.

According to the content creator, Emmanuella blocked him for five months and only reappeared after his recent rise as a Twitch streamer, where he gained wider recognition through collaborations with international creators, including American rapper and streamer DDG.

Carter attributed his current success to perseverance during what he described as a prolonged separation.

In a series of emotional Instagram Story posts, Carter alleged that the relationship derailed his career and personal life.

“This lady has frustrated my whole life to the extent I trend everyday for beating a lady For good two years I lost everything. I lost my mindset, I cannot think or shoot content, I got broke,” he wrote.

He further claimed he was unable to see his child for months, adding that relocating away from Emmanuella helped him regain stability.

“These days you guys noticed I’ve been happy and active. It’s because I was able to move away since. I’m aggressively active. God is good,” he added.

Carter also accused Emmanuella of returning only after his career gained momentum, describing her actions as opportunistic.

He detailed alleged struggles, including living in a single room with his team before being evicted, while crediting faith and determination for his eventual breakthrough.

However, his narrative was publicly challenged by influencer JoJo of Lele, who accused Carter of repeated domestic abuse and alleged that Emmanuella was forced out of their home multiple times during the relationship.

The situation escalated after activist and social media influencer VeryDarkMan shared videos of Emmanuella appearing emotionally distressed, with visibly swollen eyes.

In a post addressing the issue, VeryDarkMan claimed he had previously accused Carter of being physically abusive.

“I called him a woman beater… I specifically said he beats his wife,” VeryDarkMan wrote, urging Emmanuella to speak for herself.

The videos sparked intense debate online, with some viewers attributing her appearance to emotional distress, while others viewed the footage as corroborating abuse allegations.

Carter Efe has not directly responded to the videos.

Amid the backlash, Emmanuella released a video on Instagram on Monday, disputing Carter’s claims and offering her own account of events.

She stated that they had been together just days before his public posts and accused him of misrepresenting their relationship.

“We were literally together three days ago… we have a baby together, and for you to cater for your child, I have to come to you before you can give me money, even though you say we aren’t together anymore,” she said.

She further alleged that Carter restricted her personal freedom and professional aspirations, claiming he stopped her from working or pursuing acting, and accused him of isolating her from friends and family.

“He blocked all my female friends because he knows I would confide in them… he made sure I kept my family away,” she alleged.

Emmanuella also claimed that Carter threatened her ahead of his social media posts.

“He called me this morning and told me he was about to post something calling me a prostitute and that he would make sure I don’t ever post myself again,” she said, adding that he claimed ownership of her platform.
