Bandits on Tuesday night launched a deadly attack on Kauran Fawa and Unguwar Jika communities in Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State, killing and abducting several residents.
Security analyst Bakatsine disclosed the incident in a post on X, saying the attack threw the affected communities into deep grief and fear, as families mourned those killed and waited anxiously for news of the abducted victims.
According to him, the violence has badly shaken residents and disrupted the fragile sense of security in the area
The attack occurred despite a peace agreement earlier reached between local government stakeholders and bandit groups, which was intended to restore calm and protect lives and property.
“Last night, bandits carried out a deadly attack on Kauran Fawa and Unguwar Jika communities in Dandume LGA, Katsina State. They killed and abducted several people.
“The incident plunged the affected communities into grief and fear, as families mourn their loved ones and anxiously await news of those taken away,” Bakatsine posted.
He said the latest assault has raised serious concerns among community members, many of whom now feel betrayed and exposed, as promises of peace have not translated into real safety on the ground.
