Atiku associate’s brother, kidnapped in Yola

Umar Hammandikko, a brother of one of the closest associates of a former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar,  has been kidnapped by gunmen at Njoboliyo in the Yola South Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

Sani Umar, a relative of the kidnapped victim informed the police of  Hammandiko’s abduction.

Hammandikko is a younger sibling of Jauro Turaki, a close ally of Atiku.

The state Police Public Relations Officer,  DSP Sulaiman Nguroje, confirmed the abduction, adding that the anti-kidnap unit was on the trail of the kidnappers.

According to the police, Hammandikko was kidnapped on Saturday at about 11pm by five gunmen who shot into the air to create panic and thereafter forced their way into the victims residence and whisked him away.

He said, “However, the police is now on their trail; they will soon be apprehended.”
